For Children's Hospital Boston — Introduction To Children's Hospital
For Children's Hospital Boston I created 22 videos (2005 to 2009):
- An overall introduction to the hospital. →
- A series of sixteen 30-second "health tips" spots for TV. (In Spanish, aired on Univision.)
- Two 30-second spots for TV about a satellite clinic, Martha Eliot Health Center, which serves a primarily Spanish-speaking community. (In Spanish, one also in English, all aired on Univision.)
- A silent countdown video played at events, designed to draw viewers in to watch the overall introduction video.
- A Spanish-language adaptation of the overall introduction video using the same B-roll but new interviews in Spanish.
Children's Hospital Boston wanted to inspire the trust of parents and of referring physicians, so I proposed a documentary-style approach based on interviews with the hospital's leadership, a caregiver, and a parent, and footage that would highlight the hospital's exceptional clinical care as well as its world-class research.
I interviewed the president and CEO of the hospital, the vice president of nursing, and the mother of a five-year-old patient, and also filmed daily goings-on in the hospital (including surgery, patient care, and laboratory research), and blended those together with music I composed to suit the video's purpose.
