For New Canaan Country School — Living the Mission

New Canaan Country School, a private day school for students from pre-K to 9th grade, asked Upland to create a video in support of its $23 million "Living the Mission" capital campaign. The purpose of the campaign was to fund improvements to its teaching facilities and strengthen its endowment.

The video was shown at an event marking the launch of the public phase of the campaign, and then at additional events throughout the campaign.

The school felt the video was such a strong reflection of its distinctive values and characteristics that the admissions office decided to use it, also, for recruiting.

To create this video, I started by analyzing New Canaan Country School's needs in depth. Then we conducted on-camera interviews with several teachers and alumni, a board member, and the head of school, and I filmed daily life on campus over the course of several days. Next, I edited the footage to deliver the final video in time for the launch event.
