For St. George's — Lives That Matter

For St. George's admissions, I created:

  • "Because the Journey Matters" —
a series of six impressionistic one-minute videos.
  • "Lives That Matter" — a video about the school's rigorous academics, to counter a stereotype held by some that it was a "sailing school" because of its long-standing prowess in sailing races.  →

I especially enjoyed creating the "Because the Journey Matters" series because I developed a set of impressionistic visual and structural techniques for it that broke new ground for me creatively, and that the school found to be very effective.

I also created two fund-raising videos for the St. George's development office.

For this video, I interviewed Head of School Eric Peterson on camera on the basis of in-depth pre-interview research with Peterson and members of the admissions office staff. We also filmed in classrooms, labs, and throughout St. George's, to showcase the strength of the academic program across the board.

(This was the first time Upland filmed an interview with two cameras simultaneously, to be able to cut back and forth between two different angles.)
